Unit Managers
Brief Summary:
Working on a well
site either offshore
or onshore. Must be
responsible for
total supervision
and coordination of
the mud logging unit
and crew on the well
site.
Responsibilities:
1. The unit manager
will work in the
gulf coast areas of
Louisiana, Texas,
Mississippi, and
Alabama. This will
include onshore and
offshore
assignments.
2. The unit manager
will operate and
maintain a
computerized mud
logging unit to DWL
standards and to the
customer’s
standards.
3. The unit manager
will operate the mud
logging unit in the
safest possible
manner. Daily safety
meetings, JSA
reviews and attend
and be proactive
with rig safety
meetings.
4. The unit manager
will deliver to the
customer/client
complete and “on
time” written and
verbal reports
during the drilling
process.
5. The unit manager
will evaluate
formations drilled
and report all
hydrocarbon shows,
abnormal pressure
ramps and
information
pertinent to the
safe drilling of the
well.
Requirements:
5 years or more mud
logging experience
BS degree or 2 years
of college
preferably in
chemistry,
Geochemistry,
geology,
Physics. General
studies degree is
acceptable with 5 +
years of oil field
experience
preferred in mud
engineering, MWD,
and well site
geology.
Excellent computer
skills are required
in conjunction with
pore pressure and
data engineering
skills/experience.
Relief Assistant Unit
Managers/Tour Loggers
Brief summary:
Work on a well site
offshore or onshore
must be responsible
for assisting the
unit manager in the
coordination of the
mud logging unit to
the DWL Standards.
The assistant unit
manager will work in
the gulf coast areas
of the US.
The assistant unit
manager will assist
and work a 12 hour
tour opposite the
unit manager.
The assistant unit
manager will
maintain
communications with
the unit manager in
all aspects of the
drilling and
evaluation process.
Skills required:
Ability to work with
sophisticated
surface sensors and
computer equipment.
Must be strong in
math and science
skills.
Analytical/critical
thinking skills.
Good communication
skills.
Ability to work
independently and
also within a team
environment.
Education requirements:
High school degree
with courses in math
and sciences.
Computer and
electronic
experience
preferred.
Title:
Petroleum Engineer
(Multiple Openings)
Duties:
Work on temporary
drilling sites either
onshore or offshore.
Monitor all drilling
activities; examine
drill cuttings & perform
evaluations for
hydrocarbon content.
Collect accurate
engineering data using
surface sensors.
Advise
& report vital
information necessary
for complete hydrocarbon
analysis of drilling
project.
Requirements:
BS, Petroleum
Engineering.
1 yr exp.
as mud logger or mud
logger trainee.
Excellent communication
skills.
Must have
reliable transportation.
Must be willing to work
overtime, work 12 hr
shifts, and shift
rotation.
